HOMESAFE ALLIANCE BLOWBACK
It’s important to provide you with relevant comments we receive on articles we write for this newsletter. As the famous newscaster Paul Harvey used to say: “Now here’s the rest of the story.” Many of you had an immediate reaction to our last newsletter highlighting a presentation of Caleb Mixon of HomeSafe Alliance and members of the audience at a recent Wheaton/Bekins conference in February. Your comments:
- NOT WORTH BIDDING: “We actually already have one of our drivers signed up for HSA and let me tell you, as great as they make it sound, it is a complete mess right now.”
- HIGH CLAIMS. LITTLE MONEY.: “Our drivers refuse to haul the military in general due to high claims, little money, and the military has so many special requirements it isn’t worth the hassle.”
- FUEL COSTS: “The amount of reimbursement is barely enough for one fill-up.”
It’s important to realize that HomeSafe Alliance is the implementor here, not the buyer. They are using rate scales and incidental charges they receive from the Department of Defense through TransComm. As long as there are movers who will honor the bids at these rates, the Department of Defense is satisfied and, by definition, HSA is doing its job. Comments?
