NEW GOOGLE RANKING FACTOR: Part 2

In a rare pre-announcement, Google has stated that website design will make a difference in getting to Page One. Since Page One is the difference between lots of leads and just a few leads, this is a must-read for any moving company.

WHAT:  Three new “core web vitals.” The second one is the First Input Delay. This measures the responsiveness and quantifies the experience users feel when trying to first interact with your page. An ideal measurement is less than 100 seconds.

WHEN: Sometime in 2021. Delayed due to COVID.

WHERE: All internet websites including mobile and desktop versions. Yours included.

WHY: Provide a better user experience for Google customers.

This is very technical, and we understand that, but you must be mindful of a change in Google’s overall evaluation of websites. Up until now, it has all been about content. However, we now see a shift to Google being interested in how you design your site and how its customers (the users of the Google search engine) are able to interact with your site.

Begin now to prepare your site for this eventuality in 2021. If you missed the first Core Web Value, visit the blog on our website.

Onward and upward!
